What is BITSAT Counselling?
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is the sole official entrance examination for admission to First Degree programmes at BITS Pilani. It assesses conceptual clarity, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving ability — and serves as the only gateway to B.E., M.Sc., and B.Pharm. programmes across all BITS campuses. There is no management quota or alternate entry route.

A candidate can appear a maximum of two times in BITSAT 2026 — Session 1 and Session 2. The higher of the two scores will be considered for admission. However, if you score well in Session 1, you may be called for admission based on your 12th marks even before Session 2.
BITSAT has 130 questions — 30 from Physics (Part I), 30 from Chemistry (Part II), 10 from English Proficiency, 20 from Logical Reasoning (Part III), and 40 from Mathematics/Biology (Part IV). Students who answer all 130 questions without skipping any are eligible to attempt 12 additional bonus questions, provided time permits.
Each correct answer gives +3 marks, and each incorrect answer carries a penalty of −1 mark. Unanswered questions receive 0 marks. The 12 bonus questions follow the same marking scheme.
